My collection ...
In this year 2007, I've change my point of view about my collection. At the beginning (in the year 2001), I was searching only pre-WW2 belgian sets. It was not easy but I finally had a nice collection, around 30 sets. In 2005, I get married... At this moment, I've sold a part of my radios, because of a money problem...
I don't make anything on this hobby during two years, but recently, i've restart to search radios ! And discover a lot of things, very good stocks.
From 30 sets before marriage (and around 10 after...) now i own more than 200 sets! Every origins and every brands, tubes and transistors, belgian and others. I also buyed TV sets, Hi-Fi,... Anyway, because not enough space in the house, I've put all in a good warehouse, the pics are on this page. It's a safe place but it's not easy to go and show all of this.
That's why I have a project to make my collection visible again.
Of course i search always mainly belgian sets, but also other ! I buy every set from the brands Orthodyne, A.S.I.A. , Magnetic, Rubis, Novera. But also other things, like vintage Hi-Fi, after WW2 sets, TV and Video, (see the «I search» page)...
I'm still, always, searching every documentation about the belgian radio / TV factories, to place on this website!

Why a radio collection?

This Philips 522A push me in this hobby... Early 80's, when my grandparents have move house, I've find this radio in the attic and took. For many years, I don't use it. I don't have the idea to repair it, I was 15 years old when discover... At the end of 1999 I've wish to hear it. I didn't own any documentation about. I've try by means of Internet, without hope. Short researchs, and I found the data and the schematic! A few hours of work, and music! Silent since many years, it lives now! |

And so, I've discover the hobby saving and restoring this kind of radios. The pleasure with this kind of collection is the «activity». A Radio (or other electronic appliances) collection is no static: the interest is to try to repair the sets, and maybe totally restoring it. If I didn't have the Internet way of communicate, what I've seen and discover, I probably never start this kind of collection...
